I own a Flyer and work with a Video Production company that has
a Component Fast DPR.
    The Fast and the Flyer have had about the same amout of
problems from what I have seen day to day.  If you are doing
any work with Betacam SP Component is a neccesity.  Component
allows you to layer your work cleaner, go more generation with
less loss, and Hook up with a component Alladin (which is a
ballsy machine).
    I use a DPS Personal Component Adapter on my Flyer just
to get that much more out of my image.  But if your not goiung
to Beta this isn't as much of a concern.
    The compression that the Fast uses (JPEG) doesn't
thrill me but since the processing is done component it is very
clean.
